CAMPUS
Campus

Acquisition of land for the construction of a permanent campus began in mid-2008. This was in line with the government directive to have a permanent campus where the entire pre-sea training could take place. Numerous land sites were visited but the ultimate objective of giving a maritime theme to the site was only fulfilled on viewing a land adjacent to Ulu Khola Bridge on way to Purbachal. This particular site is situated on the banks of Balu River and adjacent to the highway. It provides a panoramic view from the bridge, the highway as well as the river way. The land was low land, in small parcels of ownership. Nevertheless, almost 10 bighas of land, which is about three acres was required and purchased in phases. Massive sand filling as well as retention facilities had to be done to raise the land above the maximum flood level. Reputed architects and structural engineer had to be employed to ensure that the design is contemporary as well as futuristic. The structural design of the main academic and accommodation building required boring of more 250 piles sixty feet deep. The main building contains of administrative, academic and cadet block along with an auditorium, library and cadets dining space. All batches that commence their training from 2011 were housed in the new campus.

A training pond with survival craft training, parade ground, and engineering workshop of around 10000 sq ft area with modern machinery is also built to train the cadets.
